AHHH SPRING - Enjoy the fresh air and pleasant temperatures of the season. Can you think of a better way to celebrate Earth Week than to be out painting in the landscape? Although studio space is available, we will most likely spend the bulk of our time outdoors to fully appreciate the colors and moods of Spring. We'll work on developing strong compositions while maintaining expressive color and a sense of place. This is essentially a pastel workshop: Oil painters and watercolorists welcome, but demos will be in pastel. |

ON LOCATION: Plein Air Painting in Pastel - Just 20 minutes from downtown Winston-Salem, NC, the beautiful Yadkin Valley lies in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Home to numerous wineries and vineyards, experts have compared this area to France's Burgundy and Italy's Piedmont. We will go out to paint when the weather is nice and work in the comfort of the studio when we prefer to stay indoors. Oil painters welcome, but demos will be in pastel.

WINE COUNTRY PLEIN AIR - Paint the landscape of the Sonoma County wine country: parks, wineries, gardens, trees, farms and more - just fifty miles North of San Francisco. Luther Burbank called his home in Santa Rosa 'the chosen spot of all the earth.' The weather here in June is ideal for painting outdoors and the lavender will be in full bloom. |

DILLMAN'S, WISCONSIN |

PLEIN AIR LANDSCAPE - August in Northern Wisconsin is a delightful time to enjoy the woodlands and the beautiful resort setting around the pristine White Sand Lake. We'll have a 24-hour access studio to use at Dillmans, but much of the time we'll be working outdoors. The emphasis of the workshop will be on strengthening composition as well as capturing more color and emotion in every painting. |

PLEIN AIR SOCIETY of SOUTHERN OREGON will host this outdoor workshop in the scenic Rogue River Valley. Surrounded by mountains, historic Medford is abundant with images to paint, and the climate is mild. Weather conditions are normally "on the pleasant side of comfortable." The emphasis of the workshop will be on strengthening composition as well as capturing more color and emotion in every painting. |

ST. GEORGE, UTAH |

THE PASTEL LANDSCAPE - We'll have a studio to use in St. George, but we'll be working outdoors too. The weather at this time of year should be delightful, with wonderful light for painting on location. Located close to Zion National Park and other outstanding landscape features, this area is known for some of the most magnificent scenery in the world. Demos will be in pastel, but oil painters or watercolorists are welcome. |
